The Dr. Jumoke Aromasodu Education Foundation Ltd/GTE was established by Mrs. 'Yemisi Ayeni in loving memory of her mother, Dr. (Mrs.) Olujumoke (“Jumoke”) Aromasodu, who passed away on 10 February 1991 at the age of 54.
Dr. Aromasodu was not only a dedicated medical professional but also a woman of deep compassion. Despite working as a civil servant with limited resources, she consistently paid school fees for children from underprivileged homes, quietly transforming lives through her generosity.
Years after her passing, Mrs. Ayeni sought a meaningful way to preserve her mother’s legacy not just in memory, but through lasting impact.

The Inspiration
The Foundation was established by Mrs. 'Yemisi Ayeni in memory of her beloved mother, Dr. (Mrs.) Olujumoke Aromasodu, who passed away on 10 February 1991. In seeking a meaningful way to honour her mother’s legacy, Mrs. Ayeni initially considered establishing a public health initiative, reflecting her mother’s distinguished career and passion for preventive healthcare. However, she recognised that setting up an effective public health initiative without medical training would be quite challenging, and the idea was eventually set aside. She then reflected more deeply on her mother’s life and values, recalling how she consistently supported the education of children from underprivileged homes, often paying school fees despite limited resources. It became clear that this was the legacy she was called to continue supporting children through education and creating lasting impact..
The realization was simple but powerful: the greatest tribute would be to continue changing lives the same way her mother did.
Since its inception in 2015, the Foundation has consistently supported children across multiple academic years, maintaining a balance between compassion and financial discipline.
What began as a personal commitment has grown into a structured and sustainable initiative, with increasing capacity to impact more lives.
The Foundation is committed to supporting:
This focus reflects both the Founder’s values and the deeply held beliefs of Dr. Aromasodu.
This approach ensures that the Foundation can continue to support children not just today, but for generations to come.
Rather than providing support from periodic income, Mrs. Ayeni adopted a long-term vision. In August 2015, she set aside a dedicated seed fund to be invested, with the income generated used solely for paying school fees of children from underprivileged backgrounds. Over time, additional funds were added, strengthening the Foundation’s ability to support more students while maintaining sustainability.
This model ensures that:
“

The turnaround in Sunday’s academic journey has been truly remarkable. At a critical point when support was most needed, the Foundation stepped in and ensured his school fees were paid.
